About Wedding Venues on the Cape Peninsula
The Cape Peninsula gives you mountain, forest and two oceans inside forty minutes of the city. Constantia's wine estates sit against the back of Table Mountain, Noordhoek and Kommetjie open onto the Atlantic, and the False Bay villages of Simon's Town, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg have a seaside character all their own.
The Peninsula is the answer for couples who want the scenery of a country wedding without asking guests to drive out of town or book a bed. Constantia in particular offers the oldest wine estates in the country twenty minutes from the city centre — vineyards, oaks and Cape Dutch gables, with everyone home by midnight. Further south the mood changes: the roads get narrower and more spectacular, and venues take on a wilder, wind-blown character. Two practical notes. The Peninsula's weather is genuinely local — Constantia can be still while Kommetjie is blowing — so ask about the prevailing summer south-easter. And traffic through the southern suburbs on a Friday afternoon is real; build it into the guest arrival time.
